Perot Systems widens healthcare BPO deal

MANILA, Philippines – Texas-based outsourcing firm Perot Systems said it has renewed a service contract with US-based client athenahealth, a deal likely to benefit its Philippine operations.

The company, founded by American billionaire Ross Perot, said it has been awarded a five-year extension by athenahealth, which provides Web-based services for doctors.

Under the agreement, Perot Systems will continue to provide revenue cycle and clinical data capture services. The company set up its local office in March 2007, primarily supporting clients in the healthcare industry.

Locally, the company currently employs some 300 workers doing revenue cycle operations for healthcare providers, said Anurag Jain, president of Perot Systems' business process solutions and applications solutions groups.

The company occupies two floors at the Enterprise Center along Ayala Avenue in Makati City.

Perot Systems reported $2.6 billion revenues in 2007. The company employs more than 23,000 workers located in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
