Posted August 04, 2008

MANILA, Philippines -- Call center operator iQor is opening another facility in Clark Field, Pampanga, expected to provide 700 more jobs.

Vinas Kapoor, president and CEO of New York-based iQor, first announced the company's expansion after meeting with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo during her US visit late last month.

iQor opened its first call center in the country located in Metro Manila in 2005. The company expanded a year later, setting up a facility at the Clark Special Economic Zone, starting with 50 employees.

The company said it plans to hire 300 employees by the end of the year to occupy its new 32,000 square foot facility in Clark.

This latest expansion is expected to bring total workforce in the Philippines to at least 2,500 employees, the company said.

iQor operates 20 call center facilities located in five countries including the Philippines and New Delhi, India. The company said it has invested around $50 million in technology to run its call centers.
